Heartfelt and Important April Donation

Hello From Brush to Heart Family,

We try to make all of our donations special and important, and this month’s donation is no different. In fact, this might be the most meaningful donation we have ever given to-date.

Earlier this month, I was heartbroken to find out that one of our All-Star donors had passed away due to self-inflicted harm. I had known this person (i’ll call this person, Star) since elementary school, and to know that Star was hurting so much has weighed heavily on my mind. I wish I had reached out to Star more, called Star, messaged Star, anything.

Although Star is now gone, I will always remember Star’s kind spirit, generosity, and willingness to help others. They really were a friend to all. I remember a couple years ago From Brush to Heart was doing a fundraiser at a craft store, and the only people to donate that day were my family and Star. It meant the world to me.

For April’s donation, From Brush has donated to ‘To Write Love on Her Arms’. “To Write Love On Her Arms is a non-profit movement dedicated to presenting hope and finding help for people struggling with depression, addiction, self-injury, and suicide. TWLOHA exists to encourage, inform, inspire, and also to invest directly into treatment and recovery.” The mission of this organization is so inspiring, and so, in honor of Star, we have donated to them.

For more information about To Write Love On Her Arms, please visit: https://twloha.com. If you or someone you know is struggling with depression, anxiety, or suicidal thoughts, please call the National Suicide Hotline at 800-273-8255.

And so FBTH team, I leave you with this: From Brush to Heart is always here. Always. If you need someone to talk to or vent to, please do not hesitate to reach out to us via email or through our social media pages. To quote one of my favorite movies, “You are Kind, You are Smart, You are IMPORTANT.”

  1. The team at From Brush to Heart is busy at work trying to tie up any loose ends before the Spring Fest aka the Fine Arts Festival next Saturday, June h. We had our board meeting last night to determine things like prices, booth set up, and supplies needed. It is all hands on deck at the FBTH Offices and we cannot be anymore thrilled.
