Happy Friday FBTH Family!
We have just completed a donation to the Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey. This donation means a lot to me for many reasons, and I hope you’ll bear with me as I try to explain why.
The first reason why this donation means so much to me is because I have been in and out of the Pediatric Hematology/Oncology section of CINJ for all of my life. I have Sickle Cell Anemia, and the support I have received from the doctors, nurses and orderly’s at CINJ has been a blessing.
The second reason is because I know how boring it can be to sit around and do nothing while you wait for your appointment or a loved one’s appointment to arrive. Having something to do or look at besides your phone or a magazine can break up the repetitiveness that usually trails a doctor’s appointment. Plus, it is fun to look at and create art.
Thirdly, I have lost two cousins to Breast Cancer in the last decade. The Stacy Goldstein Breast Cancer Center provides hope and guidance to patients during a difficult time. Losing someone to Breast Cancer is sad and painful, and From Brush to Heart wants to do everything we can to try and help.
Finally, 25 of the art kits included in this donation were created by kids that attended our booth at the Fine Arts Festival. The kids made a painting and a card that said, ‘Get Well Soon’. This means so much to me because it just goes to show that you are never to young to do something nice.
Thank You For Your Continued Support 🙂
